In Italy immigration is still seen as something new and not positive, probably because we are not as open minded as the other countries. At the same time, a lot of people still don't know that products that are now connected with our food culture, such as pizza or espresso, are made off ingredients that were not originally italian, but were imported thanks to the migration of people through history. We made these ingredients ours, and now are part of our culture. This can be a metaphor for people, showing how immigrates can also enrich the welcoming country.
